It Came To Pass Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

It Came To Pass

Your silence spoke more than your words
A dodo bird whose non-existing
No mentioning of or recognition
Maybe bones found near ancient turds
Along with other antique birds
Who never heard the word 'resisting'
Their people now are extinct listing
For better lack of spoken word.

Your rights were struck down by a blow
Submissive lamb bleating too low
Gently corralled for the massacre
So when the people screamed their woe
Pretend we're not all in the know
Just send a useless ambassador.
