Isolated Poem by Khalid Mansour Saleh

Isolated

Lazy nights and sunny days
Time passes in a haze
The sun and laughter all around
But all I hear is sound.

Children running round and round
Ice cream vans and the coin of a pound
Footballs floating in the air
But all I see is moving hair.

Couples holding hands in parks
Dads and sons pretending to be sharks
The touch of a loved ones hand on your shoulder
But inside I only grow colder

Sand castles and water fights
Fair rides and glistening lights
And games of Tig on those summer nights.
But in this life I see no right
Just the pain of the lifeless fight.

It can be very lonely being alone...sometimes.
