Is There Peace Out There? Poem by Stephen Mcbride

Is There Peace Out There?

Turning on the TV,
And all I see is poverty.
Nelson Mandela spent 30 years behind bars,
For telling a nation what was true to his heart.
Flipping through the channels,
There was a man drinking booze.
I switched to ITV news,
Showing hungry children in Africa,
The war in the Middle East,
How can we ever find peace?
We can find money for war,
But can't feed the poor?
Killing people,
Crying.
People watching,
Loved ones dying.
That's what people have to see,
Living in a land of poverty.
