Is Life! In Your Church Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Is life to be gained in churches?
Is true! the bible taught?
What verdict, pronounce researchers?
God's faithful few report?

Do parishioners hear God's will?
Do souls still Heaven touch?
Is salvation being proclaimed still?
Damnation not so much?

How are church Vicars, Priests, Pastors?
Is love preached laced with grace?
Do some rave and rant as masters?
Blood draining from ones face?

What about Life's King, Christ Jesus?
What does He have to say?
Does He always choose to please us?
Or chasten Heaven's Way?

Most every day we hear bad news
Preachers of ill repute
Shops and bingo replace church pews
Displaying shameful fruit

Is this to be signs of the times?
Can Christ's church no more compete?
Will she ever cast off her crimes
Review! at Jesus feet

Think of the dying lost out there
Sinners on every street
Think of God's living Word to share
How devils, one can defeat

Rise up! cease snugly there sitting
Learn from bibles in hand
Abandon motives of quitting
Head for God's Promised Land.....
