Is It Gone? Poem by Lily Mosweu

Is It Gone?

Rating: 3.5

Crystal clear, it all is so sparkling bright
My eyes can't stand the light
I try to block it out
Shades I pull out, still no sight
Rays piercing through
Tears they roll down
Ache & pain for years & years I felt
Crying myself to rest
No one there to save me
No one to help me through it all
No one to kick my bummie childishness
Was it really childishness or simply a child crying for her liquorice

The sun my prime suspect!
Who else could burn till I lost prospect
I mean what greater force than the brightest star
My eyes scorched, I saw no more.. Blind!
Blindness opened up confusion
Confusion brought up question
Questions fueled up curiosity

Is it curiosity that killed it?
Its rumoured to have killed the cat
But don't you think curiosity wouldn't have been found at the crime scene had the wait been shorter
I mean patience was there before curiosity
She ran out the door knocking him to the ground
Curiosity tried to ask her the matter but she was to fast
Unlucky for him patience was the cat's life machine & he came when it was too late
I'm probably not making sense
I write with a breaking heart, no time to weigh my words
I write to let it out, don't think it will do any good

The life has been sucked out, its gone
Soon as the crystal clear, sparkling bright light damaged my eyes my heart worked overtime
With my heart I saw the sun I judged wrong
Innocent until proven guilty huh..
A huge diamond about to explode was the cause
A treasure so priceless too heated from the core for far too long
Is it my fault?
Did I take too long to let it out? My feelings that is
Had I said something sooner would it have made a difference?

Don't cry over spilt milk they say
But my tear hit the ground one time with the milk
It is ok for me to cry right?
I mean I cried before it spilt so it makes it fine for me to let them flow
right?
Clean up the mess they said, brought me a mop but no
I can't let that mop have what's mine, suck it all up, I can't
I'd rather kneel before it & lick it all off
Unhealthy they said, but I don't care
A big mess we've made, time to get away
Four tickets in my hand
Two one-way tickets to wherever
Two two-way tickets to a breather & back to cool this diamond's core
WHICH ONE WILL YOU TAKE?
