Is He Fair? Poem by Chris Jibero

Is He Fair?

Many often ask
How on earth
Would a hungry man
A homeless man
Clothes in tatters
Thirsty and gaunt
Inhabiting a parched land
In the grim grip of an angry sun
Hugged by cold nights
That cast pricking palls over him
Debarring him from interfacing
With a cheerful moon
At a dreary desert
Afar from modernity
A lucid picture of poverty
Like the story of Africa
In Western media
Ever believe in one fair God
The Father
Of both the rich and the poor?

Hear this all that have ears
God’s fairness cannot be docked
And one thing stands crystal clear
And true
God remains fair and good
The unchangeable changer
Cares and caters for all His own
For neither lack nor affliction
Can take away His goodness
His justice and equity
And His enduring love
From those who love Him
For whom all things
Work together for their good
Cos they hold unto Him
In thick and thin
As Job did in the holy writ
For the unlimited Lord
Sees the needy and the afflicted
Who trust in Him through.
