Invisible Faces Of Depression Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Invisible Faces Of Depression

Stepping into depths of basic sadness, darkness engulfing
everything, even shadows can no longer be seen anywhere.

Feelings of intense devastation fall upon the heaviness
of abandonment in depression.

Colliding and being buried beneath a forsaken beauty of
loss and death's tight embrace.

Tears falling slowly, steadily down invisible faces of
despair, hidden among particles of an ebony black grief.

Tasting the feelings of hopelessness and loss of faith,
striving to hold on to threads of life.

Being pulled continuously into depths of basic and de-
moralizing darkness, engulfing everything within a being.

Invisible faces of depression living in a world of loneli-
ness unable to grasp reality.

This is one of your heaviest poems, and it hardly moves forward toward a vision of blessedness. You are too honest to give false hopes. Sometimes we just must accept a degree of failure in completing our missions. Not in any lasting sense, but in the temporary sense of needing a break BEFORE collecting the energy for a final sortie into the unknown. That's what happens despite the best intentions. In the simplest terms you need a break.Music, Food, Companionship - it's all restorative.
