On the crowded tube
she feels
she’s invisible
& all the people
disappear
leaving her
alone
in this hollow
emptiness
talking to her self
talking to her grief
even in this
crowded tube
people create
an empty circle
around her
as if her loneliness
could contaminate them.

D Wright, you are so right about the crowd, which is often disgusted at the loneliness and lonely people, as if the loneliness is a catching disease. This is just my interpretation. It could be wrong, of course. The poem is sad and thought provoking.
