Invasion Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Invasion

Rating: 5.0

I received intelligence of an impending invasion of my heart
All your troops were there lined up ready for the start
As the first wave of smiles on your face erupted
I could feel the will of my soul corrupted
As the assault continued with a hug
I got the impression my heart felt a tug
Wave after wave hit the beach of emotion
My resolve was waning to this love potion
Those shock troops invaded my lips
Knowing now, I must retreat or slip
Out manoeuvred forced back to the bed
All was lost as the pillow hit my head
Surrender was my only option to make
I laid back and all the love I did take
Now I am lost in the sea of passion
This is quite an assault that you did fashion
Those military movements were so unique
All the pores on my body did leak
My soul and being is your prisoner now
Many times sweat will leave my brow
There will never be any more pretence
So give me no reprieve from my life sentence
