Into The Unfathomable Abyss Poem by Gert Strydom

Into The Unfathomable Abyss

At times I dream
that I fall and fall,
into the unending abyss
without finding any place
to stop the fall.

Darkness folds
over me and I fall,
still deeper into it.

It’s much worst
than parachute jumping
and feeling the material
braking your fall
and to see the earth
rushing to you in a blink.

It’s like a black hole
which opens its mouth
and sucks you in
and swallows you alive
and make you go
to the end of all things.
