Into The Past Poem by Chuks Kevin Nwaokolo

Into The Past

They call it names
Some say it was a mistake
Others say it was an abomination
I still can hear the voices in my head
You have shamed yourself
In the quest for civilization
A career been ended.

Don't end your tomorrow before it come
I once said to myself
It's okay not to associate with them
Play save was my motto
I never wanted to make the mistake they made
But today i crave for that same mistake
Wish i had made the mistake when they did.

Relaxing on my balcony with regret sited beside me
I watched as the mistake walk by full of life and hope
That could have been my precious mistake
My aging face came alive with a smile
That seem to last forever
If i could make only one last journey into the past
I would make every mistake in the world.
