Into Darkness Poem by Suparnna Anilkumar

Into Darkness

Rating: 4.0

Into darkness,
I descend.
Struggling,
to find a light.
A glimpse of hope
in this endless night.
My darkest thoughts,
my worst nightmares
envelop me
in burning knots.
Revenge and murder
seize my mind.
No way to desert
this hateful curse.
Shadows gather,
the gloom protrudes.
No elusion
from fiends or foes.
My eyes go blank,
my ears deaf.
And I shut my mind
to the world outside.
Realisation looms,
and I accept my fate.
To know that
there is no escape
from this
foul and obscure age.
