Intelligent Design? Poem by Joseph Anderson

Intelligent Design?

Rating: 4.5

Hey Pa, I need to ask you this,
For it's heavy on my mind;
Did man change from evolution
Or intelligent design?

Were apes our ancient kinfolks Pa?
Did they have a soul like me?
Do they have a space in Heaven?
Do preachers all agree?

Our Bible tells of wars and floods
And Eve's original sin;
Did this become a reason for
The mess this world is in?

Well, son the Greeks had many Gods,
But the Hebrews only one;
When other faiths threw in their Gods,
The mix was overdone.

Then God sent down his only son,
Just to save the human race,
If we would only bow unto
His all redeeming grace.

So, son I would reply to you,
If I knew just what to say;
As we ponder hard this problem,
Lord, teach us how to pray.
