Inside And Outside Poem by Shalom Freedman

Inside And Outside

OUTSIDE AND INSIDE

The morning is so beautiful outside
But inside there is turmoil and anxiety
Crisis in old age is difficult to find hope in
I write and write
But what does it mean?
There were great poets in the world
Good for them
I am struggling with my own simplistic lines
To understand myself and my world
And all I can do
Is write these small confessional verses
Which in this case
Diminish the anxiety only slightly
And make the turmoil a bit less

Outside it is still beautiful
Inside I am anxious and afraid.
