Innocence Lost Poem by Daniel Hooks

Innocence Lost

Rating: 5.0

How quickly
How quickly
Innocence is washed away
Like the decay of ripe fruit or a flower
We throw it away this gift this power
We used to see the world with bright enquiring minds
But now we have shut the blinds
We no longer want to see
But only with the cold adult eyes of experience
We threw away our innocence
We thought we had become wise
But we didn’t notice the tears running down from our eyes!
The tears of the darkness we now know!

Nice, so true how people throw away their innocence. This a wise poem, all should read! Tracy-Lee
