Inheritance Of The Confused Poem by Melanie DeichertMesedea

Inheritance Of The Confused

They laugh they cry
They live they die
No escaping this cycle
Us schizophrenic hypocrites
We fool no one
We cry, we die, we heave, we ho

And thus the winds blew psycho
Through and through,
My sails! Its blew!
Down yonder lovers grave
and through watery meadows still
we breathe in like fish
like the psycho on my lovers watery grave

weeping nonchalantly,
no emotions there for sure
we shun them not for their cries
deserve sympathy beyond empathy
we dont cry, we dont weep, we laugh silently
they have gone to a better place now
anywhere is better than this water
the universal conduit
its poisoned by the body!

Sea shells weeping without muscles
Clamps clamping on for dear mother
Why can’t everything be black and white?
Oh the sand of time make a desert
So dry and parched, it thirst for revenge
Drowning people in its heat
Misery overwhelming, but underneath
The shells
Oh it reaks of rot
Oh it bears no fruit
Oh the confusion

Breathe water is this heat and I drown of drought
Bleed the sands and I shall surely live
For this mental case lost in time
Dont wanna be a burden
But I have to ask the question
I need to know what it all means!

So it ignores us instead, and
Time shall let me live, for it has forgotten me
So we laugh, we cry, we hear we die
and no longer want this blessing
It has become too much
Oh god the confusion
Of being human we, needed none,
but it was free so we might as well
Laugh and cry and heave and die.

Yes Melanie, this is certainly the inheritance of the confused. But what are we confused about? The answer is... everything. While we go through life, we say we 'know' this or we 'know' that, but that is only how we were conditioned. What is it that we really think we 'know'? Nothing! We think we 'know' how life began, we think we 'know' why we are on this earth. But do we really 'know' or are we just taking a calcuated, 'educated' guess? See, even I am confused. This is a very well written, very well thought out poem, and it has a very profound message. Thank you for sharing, and this rates a 10 from me. Love & hugs, Barbara
