It's exciting for us
To know in an instant
Details of happenings
In corners of the world.
Knowing the approach
Of an impending storm
Lets us be prepared
To avoid disaster.
Drought or floods or
Tremors of the earth
As and when they occur
We share our resources.
There's a lot of good
We gain from news on
TV, Radio and internet
Newspapers and e-news.
News people seem
To stress the sensational
Bad news is covered
More than the good.
Details of violence
And harmful acts
Be presented with caution
To prevent copycats.
Speed of communication's
Our greatest achievement
Let's reap all its benefits
And avoid all its pitfalls.
World has now shrunk
To be a brittle ball in hand
Let's handle it with care
And preserve it for the future.
