Infinity Poem by Michael Hopkins

Infinity

Infinity

Infinity already knows of Itself

It is we in the finite

Whom know It not

We are as candles

Without a flame

Yet to be ignited

Yet to be illuminated

Infinity is the flame

We are the unlit

Waiting upon the flame

The flame that consumes

The finite

Until it is finite

No more

And

Only a memory to us

Joining with the particles of the Universe

Unjoining with the particles of the Universe

Blended in the Infinite

With

All That Is

Then

And

Only Then

Truly understanding both

The finite

And

Infinity

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Note: I wrote this poem yesterday while watching a movie called, The Man Who Knew Infinity.
The film is about an early 20th century Indian Mathematician and his struggles to prove his works to those in academia who were duller of intellect and knowing. His was a direct knowledge which they did not understand. I have published the poem today for the first time of my blog.
