Indian Drums Poem by Harlan Simantel

Indian Drums

let us hear
inspired indian drums
as wildlife silently listens
and happy bees hum

the indians and mexican
native daughters and sons
keep it simple
love for You
love for the land

establish them strong, Creator Chief
destroy any evil human thief
keep them humble, brave and strong
eyes on You above
overcome what's wrong

live joyfully in their song

send them Spirit
send them love
wisdom, determination
straight from above

thrive them, jesus
you know how they feel
despised under a cruel
american heel

treaties busted
some took their land
pay them what's due
from Your awesome strong Hand

let the tribes again fill this land
navajo, shawnee,
and all the rest
Your indian families - Spirit
blessed
