Independent Poem by Abdulkarim Modiya

Rating: 4.0

Gone are the days of our forefathers
Submitting themselves to the bloody fool's killer's
Letting themselves to be caged and enslaved
And strongly kept without food in the cave

They become our kings and our lord's
For their words smitten us as a sword
A long wooden - metal rod chase us
For when it roar, it may not left none of us
Nigeria is a blest and rich country
But since they come across to our boundary
We rise up, very strong and very bold
Capable of conquering their thousand fold

And we defeat them all to their very best
From the north, east, south to their west
