Independence Day Of India 2014 (In Acrostic) Poem by Dr John Celes

Independence Day Of India 2014 (In Acrostic)

I am an Indian by birth
No one dare questions my citizenship
Democracy is the rule of my beloved motherland
Every fellowman is equal in all aspects
Peace is our innate love and prosperity our only goal
Erase I must all poverty and illiteracy from my land
No one can deny me my fundamental rights
Die, I will for the sake of my country, if need be
Each day, I reinforce my Indianness
National integrity is my foremost duty and responsibility
Corruption will be rooted out and my sacred culture will remain in my blood
Every Indian abroad is an ambassador for the nation

Do not put hurdles in the path of my country's progress
All Indians are my brothers and sisters
You cannot underestimate an Indian's capabilities

Only God is my true friend and benefactor
Friends are galore but foes are few

Imitate I will my great leaders and freedom-fighters
Nothing shall stand in the way of my patriotism
Do I will in every way, to maintain unity
I wish to die as an Indian on Indian soil
Always, I shall dream of a mightier India
