In Your Face Poem by James Hunter

In Your Face

Rating: 5.0

Have you ever had a grizzly bear
Up close and in your face
To smell the stench and see the teeth
And too know there's no escape
Your heart beat stops, your eyes are fixed
You are paralyzed with fright
Cause running's not an option
You will be killed if you take flight
Stand your ground, make your peace
You try to yell as you go kneeling
Your life is flashing in your mind
And soon you will stop breathing
He grunts at you and you just stare
It's almost hypnotizing
He must be sizing up his meal
Do you look sweet and appetizing?
Then he walks away, you are shocked
Your body starts to quiver
You've been given a second chance
To be someone else's dinner
