In Vain Poem by Amelia Murray

In Vain

I take it back,
saying love hurts the most.
A dying heart
and tears of blood.

My limbs feel like lead.
My eyes just look at shadows.
The mist covers my mind,
A ghost touches my skin.

I remember. It hurts.
Your smile that reaches so far,
the endless distance enclosed
by an arms length.

A wish to bring it all back.
A wish made in vain-
Shadows only grow.
There is no turning back.
