In This Dark Night

Rating: 4.5

In this dark night of trying to touch what firm upon, we imagined our grasp,
The elusiveness of surety can prove to be.
Men, thinking themselves invulnerable, reveled to be base cowards pure.
As twilight mingles unobserved, between their resolve and true ability to remain sincere.
Might sight and faith for me be one an the same, or do I face the dawn with a revolution of lack.
Can I ever dare to test my cool veneer against life's hard surface of woe.
Is pain the only thing I fear, or is it the bitter taste, failure, to quench my throat 'S longing, I don't know
But already begun I cannot cease or stray off the course that I already have started, my path laid plain in the promised light of new day,
So, thus I must face the blight bleakness of so desperate a dark night. E

A well articulated inspirational piece of poetry insightfully written with conviction. A lovely poem nicely penned in poetic diction. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
