In The Shadows Of The Breeze Poem by Ray Quesada

In The Shadows Of The Breeze

Rating: 4.3

In my life, the most interesting people I meet
Continue to be the irreversibly broken-hearted
They love the world sooo much their poor hearts
Just can't take it-
'my broken heart makes me smile.'
-Bradley Nowell

Well said, sir... well said.

I've wept so much in my life, that I go through
periods in which it even hurts too much
to cry. I'm out of tears for days at a time-
And yet I am also genuinely happy, quite often

Ever notice how similar a good laugh
and a good cry are?

Sometimes I look at a lonely leaf on a tree
and God peeps his tiny, little quantum face
out for a second - Always from somewhere right
behind the leaf, in the haunting shadows
of the breeze

And it makes me cease

I've cried out a strange, warm kind
of sadness when standing before God;
before the gifts the soul can suddenly
give to itself - It's in the shadows
of the breeze; in the hollow hallows
of the leaves; in a clear, rich Sunburst
of Memories - It's the loving
Shadow of Light, making each object's
shadow the shadow of Forgiveness...
and I gaze in bewondered, wild astonishment
and I say, 'ooohhhhhh, what IS this? ! ?
