In The Setting Sun Poem by Justin Gildow

In The Setting Sun

Standing on the rooftop
Looking all around
Looking at the buildings
Looking down on the streets full of traffic
The tapestries blow in the wind
The windmills that are at the top of the buildings spin
Soon I'm joined by you
Our hands are clasped in one another's
We push out the hustle and bustle that's in the world today out of our minds
We smile to one another
And in our minds
It feels like we could just drift away
In the setting sun

In the setting sun
When everything's calmed down
We both can agree that there won't be many days like this
Days like today
And days like this we'll both surely miss
It's felt by you and me especially
But you gently squeeze my hand
Letting me know you'll always be there for me

Here we are
In this time being
Moving into the setting sun
Melting into the setting sun
