In The Red Sundown Poem by Richard Trembath

In The Red Sundown

When the day is gone
And the sun sinks low
And the glory envelopes the town,
When the sea is calm
And the breezes blow,
I'll return in the red sundown.

Perchance when I come
You may not be there
On the shore that you once walked with me
But I'll think of you
And the days before
As the sun sinks down to the sea.

As the twilight fades
And the shadows fall
And the lights twinkle out from the town,
The sweetest memory
My mind will recall
Will be you, and the red sundown.

And you know if you need
A friend who is true
Sometime in the years far ahead,
That you'll find me there,
Where I wait for you,
By the sea, where the sundown is red.
