In The Mirror Is Himself Poem by Brayden Barratt

In The Mirror Is Himself

As he stands there
looking at the mirror,
at himself, in disgust.
He stands there disgusted,
Disgusted in himself.
He wants to get rid of the sight.
He wants to get rid of what he thinks
what he thinks is horrid.
He isn't disgusted or horrified
because of his body or his face.
He is disgusted and horrified because
of what he sees inside of him.
He sees sin after sin,
he sees scar after scar,
for he knows where they all are.
He sees the one attempt,
he sees himself hurting
all of his friends.
He sees what could of been a drunk
He sees what could of been an addict
There for what he sees i see
Because he is me,
And i am him.
