In The Land Beyond The Sun Poem by Fiona Schwartzinoff

In The Land Beyond The Sun

Rating: 3.7

When the time comes that I vanish,
Remember me when I am gone.
When my footprints fade away
To the land beyond the sun.

Promise to always love me
So when I go, I’m not leaving at all.
Promise you’ll walk endless faithfulness
Even when your grief has cooled and palled.

Oh, love has a nice way of killing,
A lovely way – don’t you think?
You fall into a well of black honey
And into a faded realm you sink.

It’s funny Death visits all of us,
Though we never visit him.
When he comes for me, be certain to remember
All that I am, all that I've been.

So when the time comes that I vanish,
I won’t really be gone.
I’ll just be there waiting for you,
In the land beyond the sun.

Too sad for your age but beautifully sad, so inspired, goes right to the heart.
