In The Grey Zone Poem by Yasmin Khan

In The Grey Zone

Rating: 2.8

A humid misty afternoon
Hangs heavy on minds
Not a leaf stirs
Tree tops are silent
No rustle no whisper of winds

Deafening silence
Words find no emotions
They wait and linger
No feelings, neither love nor hatred
Neither happiness nor sorrow

What to say and what to hear
A state between speaking and quietness
Dangles in the air

Amid wisdom and insanity
Despair and hopefulness
Longing and despising
In the grey zone of light and dark
Life stands still

Jasmine, you have beautifully captured grey zone in canvass. Life stands still....quietness fills everywhere... Beautiful write. Loved it.

There are moments when life stands still and the entire world in a state of doldrum! An inertia hangs around us when we are not able to say whether we are happy or sad! This grey state of life is poignantly put! !
