In The E-Ring, December,1967
'In order to see war clearly
you have to get past
the horror of it, '
the nuke sub admiral
told me,
a draftee,
about to be sent to Nam,
as I stared at the maps
of nuclear targets
-smaller circles designating
Chinese cities under 5 million,
larger circles cities over 10 million-
on his office walls.
