In The Despair Of Old Age
In the despair of old age
The fear of even older old age
In the hopelessness
That knows it will only be worse
The small lines of a poem
Delude
And return me to beginning again
To new worlds
To life
To youth
To hope
Thank God for these few small lines
And my still being able to write them.
