In Silence Poem by Achilles Karageorgiou

In Silence

How did you let it all go?
Alone you 're looking out for that sky high,
In streets of marble, surrounded by roses that lost their color
Now searching, begging from the people passing by
To caress them, in order to bring again their colored light

When will all this be over?
Urgently you ask for the gentle touch of death
So young, yet so tired
So full of life, yet a coward to stand firm beside

Decades and decades of suffering, burst out in madness
In moments of silence, screams are not heard
If they would, then they would
Tear the sky in half and the sun in million fragments

Let it be done, forever to abide to the rules of nature
Here and now, all that is
In silence it screams, in silence it dies
Noone could have predicted this
and life will never be again the same.
