In-Sight Poem by Mike Barrett

In-Sight

Look deeply,
Deeply into an evening's sky -
How far can you see?
How much?

Look deeply,
Deeply into a mirror, into your own eyes -
How far can you see?
How much?

Do you see two mysteries,
Each separate and distinct?
OR
Is each the same,
Both leading to the self-same point?

The questions.
The answers.

Life. Truth.
Truth. Beauty.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
In my late 20s, early 30s, I was contemplating on mystery of life - that of the self and of the universe. These words came in response to that contemplation.
