In Shades Of Grey Poem by Lutanda Lutanda

In Shades Of Grey

Should I say I am okay
Or dress in sackloth to mourn all day
Must I dress a fake smile on my face
Or cover my heart in clouds of shame
Would it be right if I raised my chin to the sky
To rest my thoughts burdened by strife

For in shades of grey I found myself again
By evil delay I am dragged to the pit of hell
All my wisdom corrupted by slow decay
My joy strangled by foolish disdain

Oh! Bitter world you have clothed my life in shades of grey
Where loneliness is my only friend
And lies are my brutal defense
Even when I am surrounded by so many who care
