In Serenity Poem by Kevin Patrick

In Serenity

A kind word to the mute
Would elect such a state of serenity
It would spring such a light
Like songbirds free from their cages
It would glue fractured hearts
And cleave to their bodies like lightning
How could anyone know?
The difficulties being a human are frightening?

For one second I thought
I could tear down the drapes when I saw you
My armour came down
And I breathed crumbs of hope I couldn't eschew
Then I saw the mirage of actual love
In your face that was specked of terrestrial distance
And I knew I was bound to elegant seclusion
what's the point of a kiss if you can't sync souls coexistence

So if life was a dream
Then it's one that I've probably slept through
And don't feel any need
To return any time soon

Please leave me be
