In Search Of Nothing (Emptiness) Poem by Edwina Aleme

In Search Of Nothing (Emptiness)

Rating: 5.0

What is this thing everyone is looking for?
men, women, boys and girls
all search for this.

Head banging at the thought of nothing
hearts thumping as big foot to the floor,
emptiness as hollow, subjects the hungry soul
to darkness, never appealing to that hunger
that canot be quenched when in pure darkness.

Seeking a way out of this jungle of hopelesness
searching for a ray of light
could be the way out?

I wonder why this anonymous thirst
could grip anyone so hard,
unidentifiable, this thirst needs to be qunched......
If only it can be satisfied,
then the thirst for mans search for fufilment
will be sealed with all the answers to questions
asked at every single step of life......(think)

Very introspective and I love this sort of poem. Questioning and wondering are among the essential elements of Poetry. Thanks Edwina.
