In Search Of God Poem by Mathew Thomas

In Search Of God

Searched for God,
In the hills and heavens,
Sea and sand,
Counsel of sages and priests,
Wise men and soothsayers,
Oracles and witches,
All came to a naught.

Searching for God,
In dreams,
Hidden meanings and symbols,
Holy books and idols,
Temples and churches,
Every nook and cranny,
It still came to a naught.

Searching for God,
Peeped into my heart,
To see if HE was there,
Opened the chambers,
Only blood flowed there,
Not red but black,
It was all a naught.

Searching for God,
Didn't know God appears,
In unlikely places,
Never seen- but felt,
In the hunger of millions,
Poor and voiceless,
In the face of a child,
At last, I found God and it wasn't a naught.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Hope you will never stop your search nor will you ever find 'Him'. As long as you are heard speaking to God, it is that you are praying perhaps.... But if you ever say you hear God speaking to you, I am afraid you are mad. All the best ahead Mr Mathew Thomas
