In Sacrificum Quendam Poem by John Ashmore

In Sacrificum Quendam

A Priest, for Penance, one enioynd to take
A iourney with three Pease, loose in his shoo:
Which he, devoutly given, did not forsake,
But fram'd himself his Penance straight to doo:
Yet, that he might perform it with more ease,
His wit did serve him, first to boyl the Pease.
