In Praise Of Nobility (Two) Poem by Rubaba Mmahajia Rahma Sabtiu

In Praise Of Nobility (Two)

Unfortunate were the meetings of the Quraish
Whom with their hands carved their gods
With their hands moulded al-Lat and al-Uzza
They connived and schemed and planned
Against the nobility of the noblest of the nobles
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
He was a liar for calling to Al-Waahid
He was mad for being a Messenger of Ar-Rahmaan
He was a sorcerer for the revelation he received
He was a poet for the Qur'an which he recited
Possessed by shaytaan for showing them the Creator
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Yet the clay of Al-Wadud they moulded
The trees of Ar-Raheem they carved
To that they bowed
From that they sought help
All of them the creations of Al-‘Aleem
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
But in peace he prayed to live with them
Hoping to see the light finally shine in their hearts
They tortured him nonetheless
With his followers they persecuted
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Away from Makkah they had sent him riding
To Madina he had gone in pain
Hurt to leave behind his home
Blessed be the Ansaar
To him they had come hearing and obeying
Receiving the Muhaajiruun in their warm embrace
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
And there the Deen stood tall and tough
The swords of the ignorant had sought to kill this
But no that was not to be
Soon came the conquest of Makkah
To the noble one they had trooped to pledge
There was indeed no god but Him to whom he called
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
This is the nobility about which I sing
This is the nobility I live to praise
This is the nobility whose love drunken me
This is the nobility I wish to see
This is the nobility I pray to touch
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
