In Praise Of Nobility (Twelve) Poem by Rubaba Mmahajia Rahma Sabtiu

In Praise Of Nobility (Twelve)

Woe to you! Woe to you! Woe to you!
Do you call him a paedophile?
A man whom in youth married older women
A man whom in youth protected women, young and old
A man whom in youth was a father to many
Sons and daughters whom from his loins had not come
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Woe to you! Woe to you! Woe to you!
Show me a 20th Century woman and scholar
Could they not on our fingers count?
Yet a young adorable lady was one in 1435 plus
Talk about the greatest scholars
Talk about a woman, Aaisha
Would not I the woman wish to be?
A great lady who was a wife to such a man
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Were the girls not in the soil put?
Eyes wide opened and limbs in motion?
Was not the menstruating woman an evil omen?
Did not men marry them in multiples over multiples?
Was not the woman gulped like the liquid in calabashes?
Would you not the rapist insult?
Why him you who possesses a mind?
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
And who was she to speak when he was there?
Could you ever sell a woman for a penny?
Do you not women naked on the street see?
Are the children and the children not without a roof?
One children the children of the other children
Did he not from His Lord come to teach?
She is another human so he said
Cover up and be free that he preached
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Did you hear of a better son?
Do you know of the most loving husband?
Did you hear of a father who was a better father?
Could you a better companionship see?
He was a man like no other
Woe to you that this you still will not see
He was a man, smiling, peaceful, strong
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Shame on you that you listen to lies about him
Shame on you that you say about him lies
Will you not cry this shame for how shameful it is?
Would you teach the little ones fabrications?
About a man noble, blessed, praised
Does his love not still boil in great bodies?
Will you not read even in this era?
About a man, great, humble, lovely
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Woe to you who is ignorant of him
Would you not his knowledge seek?
Are you blind, can't you see?
Are you deaf, would you not listen?
Are you dumb, could you not speak?
Are you crippled, would you not walk?
Woe to you who does not have a solution
Yet to the one given solutions you slander
Will you on this your last breath take?
Spewing deadly venoms on a man such as him
A man, one like no other
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
This is the nobility about which I sing
This is the nobility I live to praise
This is the nobility whose love drunken me
This is the nobility I wish to see
This is the nobility I pray to touch
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
