In Name Only Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

In Name Only

Moons of Aquarius cry
Tumultuous eyes of Saturn
Tempest winds of Mars
She plays the piano forever
I listen and hear her tears
The islands are bathed in moonlight
Tonight windows fill with frost
The heavens speak of her sorrow
No shade shall stop winters apathy
Notes filled with ebony longing
Vows on a bridge of broken dreams
Smoldering fire dies in propriety

Rembrandt decorates a ghost
Shelley’s heart burns in the fire
Broken hearts caress the meadows
Hourglass filled with volatile time
No flowers on her summer dress
No crystal butterfly pendant
Doors shut like blind Jupiter
Universe spins like a ice castle
Golden chimes flash like Venus
He has left her for another
Chill of another night of winter
They are a couple in name only
