In My Lap Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

In My Lap

Rating: 5.0

I saw him playing in my lap
He was kicking and gently offering slap
I was just wondering about this world
He was playing with me in the fold

I take him close to the chest
I want to make him feel good and rest
As sun is going up in the east
I may have to pick up and plan fast

Any child in the early age may look to be very cute
It takes from us all the worries and make mute
It is not strange like things but a reality
That is God gift with very fine quality

We look happily at child and think of future
Who knows well about it and make sure?
We have nothing but only sweet dreams
We smile at child when they are playing in our arms

Being mother it is nice to have child
Life is incomplete and becomes wild
What is joy to remain as childless?
So much criticism about life to face

It pinches hard to the heart
When it is evident from the start
It is shock to you in person
As you may bear no child with specific reason

All of sudden you may realize it is rude shock
When you may notice girls playing in nice frocks
Children making sweet noises in your street
Rush to their moms and eagerly greet

I am for sure and with it to happen
Life is very much graced then
I would dream it to happen to all
As it will be wishful thinking and written on wall
