In Memory Of My Mother- An Elegy Poem by Natarajan Ramaseshan

In Memory Of My Mother- An Elegy

Rest now.Let all your ailments cease.
A life of toil ended.Have peace.
No soothing words your lips shall pour
Your smile shall comfort us no more
Our problems all you till now bore
Sans you, we know not what's in store

Deeper than the deepest ocean
Your love never knew cessation.
Taller than the tallest mount peak
Your lofty ideals would best seek.
Larger, broader than clear blue sky
Your noble heart would soar so high.
Like gentle rain, you did nourish
The lives of children to flourish.

In hills and dales and starry skies
In morning flowers feast for eyes
In woods and parks, lonely pathways
In lakes that reflect bright sun rays
In lovely beaches, in meadows green
In milky moonlight, heaven's sheen
In creeks and rivers, roaring sea
I'll search for your face and will see!
For now with Nature you are one
Always visible to your son!
