In Love With A Jerk Poem by Khaleel Steir

In Love With A Jerk

She follows after him like the paparazzi. She can't see through his alluring mist.
She'll go to the end of the world for him but he won't do the same.
How can she be head over heels for him when he treats her so bad?

The man who treats her right gets thrown to the side like an unwanted toy.
She doesn't care about him, she's too caught up in the mist.
He's hurt, broken like a shattered mirror. He's confused.

He tries to show her the truth, but she listens like she's deaf.
Tears fall as he breaks down like a child. He can't stand to watch her chase him.
So he turns up the bottle and drinks the pain away.

She's out trying to get the jerk's attention but he only wants one thing.
He doesn't want her love. And she does what he wants.
The next day, he's gone. He's gotten what he wanted and has vanished like a magician.

She's hurt, confused, used. She turns and it hits her like a bus. He used her.
So she turns to the man who would do right by her.
But he's gone. He's happy with another who would do right by him.

Then it begins to rain. She's alone, cold, standing in the rain.
The couples walk by under their umbrellas, happy, laughing.
Then she breaks down and cries.
