In His Hands Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

In His Hands

Rating: 2.8

He was called mad
By out side world
For being frank and straightforward
He used to be optimistic and looked forward

Some of our friends become unpopular
By us for holding views similar
In fact it is habit of good cultivation
This helps to build long time relation

Poverty should not mar the friendship
It is your liking for comradeship
That sentiments and affection matter
Rest all can be taken care of later

One of my childhood friends was really poor
For his family some one else was begging from door to door
They were really starving for the want of food
But well looked after by people from neighborhood

You can well judge caliber of such person
Despite being from so poor family, he stood by his ground with reasons
We had no answer for his logical conclusions
He was leaving no doubt or confusion

He rose to become one of the best doctor
Another brother became judge
Second one become secretary
So judge was highly placed in judiciary

Unluckily all brothers were targeted to in communal riots
Their houses were burnt by some fanatic idiots
This broke his mental spirit and decided to leave country

He felt so grieved about people and was almost weary
