In Her Absence Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

In Her Absence

In her absence

She
Unlike many
Did not step into an unknown hoping a possible known

She
Remained
Surface of water; no breeze

Poverty's mushroom
Fabricated wet shades in shadow
Soaked

Under Life-Support for days
Surrendered she
Passed

Departed
Is relieved;
No pretention to conversion

Celebrate
No Sunday for need
No Saturday for support Friday from fear

No...No more
Never again:
"We need their stamp, signature"

And in need
The husband's eye
"Is there any opportunity? "
