‘In God' s Name'

‘God’-the God of love:
In His name, they rejoice
Nothing but His name!
On His promises, they dwell
Nothing but His promises!
Oh, ‘in God’s name’-the God of love.

But they kill!
‘in the name of God’
They will raise arms
And detonate bombs
All in the name of God

July 21st 2010, in the pearl of Africa,
Their God grins while people weep
Blood spills when their God visits
All in the name of God

Sending souls to darkness
As a sacrifice for the God of light
Why spread darkness, to preach a God of light
Why hold guns, to defend the almighty
And ‘in God’s name, ’ they perish!

poet William Wordsworth

I

I AM not One who much or oft delight
To season my fireside with personal talk.--
Of friends, who live within an easy walk,
Or neighbours, daily, weekly, in my sight:
