In Each Tormented Dying Poem by Shalom Freedman

In Each Tormented Dying

IN EACH TORMENTED DYING

In each tormented dying
Of friend and neighbor
Relative or stranger
I now see my own

I would not say
I am trembling in fright
But I am disturbed

When it comes to me
I hope I will go through it with courage
I hope I will not be
Too great a source of trouble and pain
To those I love.
