In Churches Sitting Poem by Michael P. Johnson

In Churches Sitting

As self; in churches reigns and grows
Riches, leaders desire
So demonic influence flows
Quenching life bringing fire

Celebrity fame, seek preachers
Prominence seeks a throne
While Christ, with few humble teachers
Will melt a heart of stone

Parishioners, reading this verse
In righteous love would speak
Shepherds to free of deadly curse
When forgiveness! Christ they seek

Leaders! If Christ comes to guide you
Repentance comes to mind
Let love's conviction change your view
And walk no longer blind

Grace caters repentant sinners
Blesses Life's humble sheep
Lifts the least, high up as winners
When righteousness they reap

May the church, her failures ponder
The shameful world outside
Preach here, teach far out yonder
Gather Salvation's bride

Starving, devoid of living Bread
Blind, deaf, to Heaven's will
Countless sick souls are walking dead
While saints in church, sit still

Let the church stand up for Jesus
Wake up the bride asleep
Our Lord didn't die to please us
But life's Promises to keep.....
